Margarita Man Mixing Instructions

The Next Best Thing to Delicious Margarita Man Drinks is
How Simple the Machines are to use!

Margarita Man Machine Setup

Follow the instructions below for preparing the mix. Be aware, the machines are refrigeration devices and are heavily affected by the rate of consumption, air temperature, and direct sunlight. For maximum performance, use indoors (at the very least, outside in the shade) and reserve the appropriate number of machines for your party size!

Make sure that the machine is switched 'ON', and not to 'CLEAN', otherwise it will not freeze down. This is the first thing we will ask you to do if you call us.

Lime Margarita (stronger concentrate than the other flavors):

  1. Add one bottle of lime margarita mix to the bucket provided
  2. Add water up to the center of the tape line (3.5 gallons)
  3. If adding alcohol, the 'standard' recipe is 3 liters of tequila and 1/2 to 1 liter of triple sec
  4. Stir the bucket contents well
  5. Remove lid from machine and pour all of the mix into the top hopper... SLOWLY at first
  6. Turn toggle switch to the ON position. This is a three position toggle switch - the left position is “ON” (the 'CLEAN' position will spin the mixer but NOT freeze your drinks!)
  7. Wait 45 minutes indoors (1 hour outdoors) and enjoy!

All other flavors (excluding special recipes):

  1. Add one bottle of flavored mix to the bucket provided
  2. If adding alcohol, add 2 liters of the appropriate liquor (see FLAVORS page)
  3. If alcohol was added, add water (2.5 gallons) up to the center of the tape line. If making slushies, add water until about 1" below the tape line

For Smoothies:

  1. Follow the "All other flavors" instructions, except replace 1 gallon of water with 1 gallon of whole milk in STEP 3. See the Flavors page for the best smoothie options!

Helpful Hints:

If you have not rented a machine before, you may be surprised to learn that 50-70% of your guests will choose the frozen drinks over beer and wine. This means you can probably get by with providing less beer and wine.

Keep margarita machines in the shade during daytime operation.

If the machine is not freezing down, ensure that the toggle is in the “ON” position (left is ON, right is CLEAN, and middle is OFF). The machine will run, but not freeze the mix, in the 'CLEAN' position!

Use a dedicated 110V, 20-amp circuit for each machine. If you don't know what that means, call us!

Using a cold mix will ensure better output. During hot weather, keep the hopper topped off and add a 1/2 small bag of ice to mixing bucket before adding the water (the ice should melt completely; don't add ice into the machine!)

Heavy gauge extension cords (12 gauge) are provided with each rental. Please do not use any other cords; the machine may run, but will not freeze properly!

Please tell us when you make your reservation if we will encounter any steps or stairways during delivery. If so, there must be one or more healthy males around to help the delivery person, as the machines weigh 175 lbs!

Unauthorized transportation of machine(s) will result in a $500 fine. Please do not attempt to relocate, lift or otherwise move machines.
